2020 Central Chapter Assistant Director

Tamia is a Communications Supervisor and the ACC for the Bakersfield Police Department where she has worked since 1996. She began her career as a Records Clerk. Five years later she promoted to Police Dispatcher, and eventually to Police Dispatch Trainer.

Tamia has been involved with training for over twelve years. She is a POST certified instructor, CLETS certified instructor and has completed the POST IDI Advanced Level (Level III). Currently, she facilitates multiple domains for her Department’s Dispatch Academy, is the CLETS instructor for their Police Academy and teaches several in-house procedure based courses.

Tamia writes extensively for her Department, updating their Communications Center Training Manual, created a Standard of Operations Manual for her dispatch center and recently co-authored a proposal to implement a tactical dispatch team.

Tamia was elected to serve as the CCUG Central Chapter Treasurer for 2017 and again for 2018.  Tamia was elected to serve as the 2019 Central Chapter Secretary. Tamia was appointed Central Assistant Director for 2020.

In her free time, Tamia loves to read, travel and learn new things.
